CONTEMPORARY ART BY SELF-REPRESENTING ARTISTS

TOOVEY’S hold their fourth annual sale of contemporary art at auction on Saturday May 29, commencing at 6pm, at their Spring Gardens salerooms, Washington.  Click the 'sales' tab above for the online catalogue.

As in previous years, the sale consists solely of works entered by self-representing artists.  The event has proved to be a refreshingly different way for artists to showcase and sell their work in Sussex.  It also continues to provide a rare opportunity for art lovers, collectors and patrons to acquire art by established and emerging names through auction, potentially at prices lower than in a gallery.  A selection of work, including at least one by each artist, will be exhibited between 2nd April and 22nd May at Horsham Museum as ‘Artventure’.

Fully illustrated catalogues (with artist biographies) are available for £5 from the auction rooms and exhibition venue or for £6 by post from Toovey’s.
