Photogravure frontispieces, numerous plates (18 coloured), numerous illustrations, 8 folding maps and plans. (Some spotting, slightly heavier to first and last few leaves, occasional browning, pp.601-604 vol. I torn with loss of page numbers to top corner.) Original blue cloth, t.e.g. (head and foot of spines lightly bumped). Spence 1056.
