A Japanese Satsuma earthenware kogo box and cover, Meiji period, of flattened circular form, the top painted and gilt with a scene of figures with pavilions, lake and Mount Fuji beyond, the underside with simulated brocade and millefleur bands, the interiors painted and gilt with a band of figures framing peony and butterflies, gilt and black signature to base, diameter 9.1cm.
