An early 19th Century needlework sampler worked by Alice Eliza Balderston, dated 1832, the verse above a stylized garden with a Georgian house, flanked by figures, dogs and trees, all within a strawberry border, worked with coloured threads and wool in cross stitch, on a cream canvas ground, approx 54cm x 51cm, within a wood frame.
