                A William IV needlework sampler by Mary Cummins Newman, dated 1834, the central verse above a large country house surrounded by trees, plants, birds and a harp, flanked by baskets of flowers, worked with coloured threads in mainly cross stitch on a cream canvas ground, approx 39cm x 31cm, within a gilt slip and maple frame.
