                A Chinese Canton export sandalwood brisé fan, mid-19th Century, the guards and thirteen sticks carved and pierced with typical scenes of buildings, figures and trees, supporting a paper panel, one side painted with a central figural scene, flanked by a pair of oval coastal landscape vignettes, all reserved against a blue ground with gilt painted detail, the other side with a continuous figural panel with applied painted ivory facial detail, within a border of flowers and precious objects, length approx 29cm (paper panel torn), together with a fitted lacquer case (faults).
