A rare Japanese rhinoceros horn manju netsuke, 19th Century, one side carved in low relief with a Samurai warrior doffing his hat to a bowing concubine, the reverse carved in low relief with a scroll and a fan cartouche, one with raised calligraphy, the other incised, mounted as a brooch in a white metal fitting, netsuke diameter approx 4.3cm.
