FORESTER, C.S. (1899-1966). - Louis MOUNTBATTEN, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma (1900-1979). A group of four t.l.s. to Forester. London, New York, etc.: 1941-1951. 8pp. in total (various sizes). Including a letter correcting 'technical inaccuracies' in 'The Ship' (4pp.); and a letter concerning the importance of the British naval contribution to the war at sea during the Second World War (2pp.). - And a t.l.s. from Robert Lusty (of publishers Michael Joseph) to C.S. Forester. London: 1950. 2pp. quoting a telegram from Sir Winston Churchill which praises the Hornblower books. Provenance: The Forester and Troughton-Smith Family Archive (5).
