A set of four George III playing card decks by T. Wheeler, each ace of spades printed with 'Six Pence Addl Duty, GIII Rex, 1344... T. Wheeler', with plain backs, together with a group of mother-of-pearl playing counters, all contained within a period card box of octagonal form, the hinged lid with a penwork reserve of a maiden upon a chariot pulled by two deer, within a foliate border, width approx 26cm.
