A fine Heriz silk rug, North-west Persia, late 19th/early 20th Century, the terracotta field with a midnight blue medallion enclosing palmettes, animals and two grotesque masks, supported by overall scrolling vines, bold palmettes, curled leaves and flowers, within an ivory flowering vine and palmette border, approx 290cm x 188cm (some re-piling and restoration).
