A Japanese ivory okimono carving of a bijin, Meiji period, exceptionally well modelled walking with a lantern, the young woman caught in mid-stride against a gust of wind sweeping leaves onto her kimono and blowing her headscarf, incised artist's signature and seal mark to base, height approx 20cm (repairs to headscarf, chip to obi and right hand repaired).
