A Victorian alphabetical and numerical needlework sampler by Mary Holmes Smith, aged 8 years, 1862, the bands of letters and numbers above birds, plants and two teapots, worked with coloured threads in cross stitch, approx 30cm x 25cm, within a bird's eye maple frame.
