POTTER, Beatrix. The Tale of Mr Tod. London & New York: Frederick Warne & Co., 1912. First edition, 1st or 2nd printing, 16mo (138 x 104mm.) 15 colour plates, uncoloured illustrations, all by Potter. (Some soiling, half-title adhered to frontispiece). Original buff paper-covered boards with onlaid paper panel to upper cover (extremities scuffed, backstrip lacking, stitching weak). Provenance: Barbara Shephard (signature to half-title). Linder p.429. - And sixteen later editions by Potter (17).
