                A William IV fine needlework sampler by Mary Ann Mitchell Girdlestone, Aged 11 years, 1836, the upper half with a verse surrounded by birds, birdcages, plants and trees flanking a central folly, the lower half with Adam, Eve and serpent under the apple tree, flanked by plants, animals, butterflies and birds, worked with coloured silks in mainly cross and running stitch, approx 21cm x 29cm.
