An impressive Japanese Satsuma silver overlaid earthenware vase by Kinkozan, Meiji period, the compressed globular body finely painted and gilt with a band of colourful butterflies in flight, within silver overlaid borders of swirling foliage, impressed signature to base, height approx 15cm (restored neck).
