A large Samson Chinese style famille rose porcelain vase and cover, 19th Century, the domed cover surmounted with an iron red Buddhistic lion resting on a rock, the ovoid body and cover painted with a black lined lappet border filled with polychrome peony and chrysanthemum on a black whorl ground, framing a design of gilt pendants, peony and other flower sprays and butterflies, height approx 89cm (rim repaired and damaged).
