BINDINGS - Rudolf STIER. The Words of the Lord Jesus… translated… by… William B. Pope. Edinburgh, London, etc.: 1855. 8 vols., 8vo (216 x 134mm.) (Light browning, occasional spotting.) Contemporary calf gilt, the covers with centrally placed armorial of the Hulme Bequest (Munificentia Hulmiana), the spines in six compartments with raised bands, lettering pieces in the second and third, the others with elaborate repeat decoration in gilt (some scuffing, spines darkened). Provenance: J. Arthur Whitlock (signature to preliminary blanks).
