LOT 1195
A large Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot and cover, possibly Kangxi period, the compressed circular body ornamented in relief with a design of lotus and scrolling tendrils, flanked by scroll moulded spout and handle, the cover with Buddhistic emblems, unmarked, length approx 29.5cm (cover cracked, repaired and chipped and other minor chips). Note: a teapot of similar size and decoration bearing seal marks and catalogued as Kangxi period was sold for £30,000 in the Arthur J. Harris collection at Wooley & Wallis, 18th May 2011.
