GOLDSMITH, Oliver. An History of the Earth, and Animated Nature… the second edition. London: 1779. 8 vols., 8vo (210 x 125mm.) 105 engraved plates. (Some spotting or browning.) Near contemporary calf tooled in gilt and blind (extremities slightly scuffed, joints splitting, two upper covers detached, some chipping to heads of spines). Provenance: J.W. & D. Farrer (armorial bookplates), M.D. Vandos (mounted signatures).
