A Japanese Satsuma earthenware jar and cover, Meiji period, the tapered rectangular body painted and gilt with figural and floral recessed panels, within raised borders filled with dense flowers and simulated brocade, flanked by a pair of gilt mask and tongue handles, black and gilt signature to base, height approx 8.8cm.
