SUSSEX. - M.A. TIERNEY. The History and Antiquities of the Castle and Town of Arundel; including the Biography of its Earls, from the Conquest to the Present Time. London: G. & W. Nicol, 1834. Large paper copy, 2 vols. in one, large 4to (285 x 215mm). 5 double-page letterpress genealogies, 8 engraved plates on India paper mounted (1 folding), 14 illustrations on India paper mounted. (Some spotting to first and last few leaves, clean tear to one genealogy.) Original red cloth (rebacked, original paper label laid down, modern free-endpapers). Provenance: Bernard Thomas Fitzalan Howard (inscribed and dated '7 January 1842'). Note: from the library of the brother of the 14th Duke of Norfolk; The Library Collection of the Late W. Leslie Weller MBE, DL, FSA.
