A 19th Century carved ostrich egg with plated mounts and stand, the egg carved in low relief with figures, scrolls and a pair of opposing ostrich, surmounted with a figure of a recumbent ostrich, the plated stand with ram's mask shouldered scroll legs united by flower festoons, on hoof feet and triform base, total height approx 30cm (some faults).
