A Chinese hardwood and reverse painting on glass eight-fold screen, 19th Century, the central six glass panels painted with a continuous scene of warriors, dignitaries, bannermen and attendants standing in front of a pavilion, flanked by glazed panels of calligraphy, bordered to top and bottom with further reverse painted glass panels depicting recumbent figures and lines of calligraphic text respectively, the hardwood frame carved in relief with upper and lower panels of stylized lotus and tendrils, approx 102cm x 124cm (formerly hinged but now mounted as one panel, one upper glass figural panel cracked and minor faults).
