A Chinese famille rose porcelain circular box and cover, late Qing dynasty, the top painted with a scene of a seated scholar, within a black banded border filled with gilt trellis vine and blossom above a duck egg blue rim, the underside with flower vignettes against a similarly decorated black and gilt ground, painted iron red four character mark to base, diameter approx 9cm.
