A Chinese ivory figural chess set, probably early 20th Century, one side stained brown, the other side left natural, with kings and queens as emperor and empress, bishops as mandarins, knights as horsemen, rooks as fortifications and pawns as the eight immortals, each with incised robe, height of king approx 15cm, within a later fitted case, hinged to form a board.
