A mid-19th Century Gothic Revival 'Neotypos' disc chess set by Pinches & Billter, comprising two original cylindrical tubes, each bearing registration lozenge and marked 'Registered Oct 8th 1849', each containing sixteen flat circular chess pieces of pressed electrotype with silvered and bronzed patination respectively, all felt backed, the queens modelled after Queen Victoria, the kings after Prince Albert, diameter of each disc approx 3.5cm, length of each tube approx 8.3cm.
