LOGAN, James. The Clans of the Scottish Highlands… from original sketches by Robert Ronald McIan. London: Willis and Sotheran, 1857. 2 vols., folio (371 x 262mm.) Additional chromolithographed decorative titles, 72 hand-coloured lithographed plates. (Some spotting, light browning and occasional minor soiling.) Contemporary red morocco elaborately blocked in gilt, the covers with centrally placed royal coat of arms of Scotland flanked by crossed swords on shields, within a border of flora and fillets, the spines gilt in six sections, lettered in the second and third, the others with repeat decoration in gilt (extremities lightly scuffed, spines slightly darkened and lightly rubbed). Provenance: James Cunningham (armorial bookplates to front pastedowns).
