PALLADIO, Andrea. I Quattro Libri Dell'Architettura. Venetia: Bartolomeo Carampello, 1616. 4 parts bound as 1, 4to (325 x 217mm.) 4 engraved decorative titles, numerous plans, elevations and cross-sections. (Some offsetting, spotting and light browning, occasionally heavy, marginal tear with minor loss to pp.29-30, some illustrations to part 2 are numbered in ink, some damp staining from A1-B1, FF-KK3, CCC2-DDD2 and RRRR-RRRR3.) Early 19th Century vellum backed boards (extremities bumped and scuffed, boards browned and soiled). Provenance: Lord Holland (inscription dated 1814 to front-free endpaper); Holland House (armorial bookplate to front pastedown and inscription with sketch to upper cover signed and dated 1815); Joyce Cary (label to front pastedown).
