A Chinese Canton export lacquer folding fan, mid-19th Century, the pair of guards and fourteen sticks decorated in gilt with figures and flowers on a dark brown/black ground, supporting a paper panel, painted in gouache with figural scenes, each figure with appliqué ivory facial detail, length approx 28cm, within a fitted lacquer rectangular case, together with a Canton export ivory brisé fan, mid to late 19th Century, the guards carved in relief with figures, trees and pavilions, the eighteen sticks with similarly pierced decoration, length approx 22cm.
