Titles printed in brown and black, 2 photogravure frontispieces, 18 colour plates, numerous uncoloured plates, 3 folding maps in pocket at rear of vol. II. (Light browning and some spotting, preliminary blank torn with loss to remove presentation inscription to vol. I.) Original cloth blocked in silver and gilt (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, damp stain to upper-cover of vol. I). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection.
