Frontispiece, 43 uncoloured plates (1 folding), 1 uncoloured folding map, 1 colour folding map at rear. (Light browning, some spotting, tear with marginal loss to p.187 and p.283, minor marginal tear without loss to colour folding map.) Original pictorial cloth with penguin to upper-cover, spine gilt (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, cloth chipped at head and foot of spine, upper-joint splitting). Spence 1183. Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection.
