First edition, 8vo (194 x 135mm.) Engraved frontispiece, 1 engraved plate, 1 folding plan, 4pp. advertisements at rear. (Light browning, frequent spotting, marginal tears with loss to pp.121-126.) Original cloth blocked in black and gilt (extremities bumped and scuffed, spine darkened) Provenance: Ellen Wofan (inscription dated '14 June 1875' to preface); Michael Gilkes (bookplate to front pastedown). - And twenty-four other volumes mostly relating to canoeing (including: J. MACGREGOR. 'The Rob Roy on the Baltic: A Canoe Cruise… tenth edition'. London: 1894). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (25).
