HUGHES, Robert Edgar. Two Summer Cruises with the Baltic Fleet, in 1854-5. Being the Log of the 'Pet' Yacht, 8 Tons, R.T.Y.C. London: Smith, Elder, & Co., 1855. First edition, 8vo (198 x 122mm.) Lithographed frontispiece, 3 lithographed plates, 2 folding maps, 16pp. advertisements at rear. (Frequent spotting, heavier towards rear, frontispiece loosely inserted.) Original pictorial cloth blocked in gilt and blind (extremities bumped and scuffed, joints starting to split, minor loss of cloth to head and foot of spine, stitching weak). - And one other volume by Robert Edgar HUGHES ('Two Summer Cruises with the Baltic Fleet… second edition, revised'. London: Smith, Elder, & Co., 1856). Provenance: Robert Hodge (signature to front pastedown of second edition); The Michael Gilkes Collection (bookplates to front pastedown of first edition and front-free endpaper of second edition) (2).
