SHACKLETON, Keith. Wake. London: Lutterworth Press, 1954. First edition, 8vo (280 x 217mm.) Colour frontispiece, 15 colour plates, numerous uncoloured illustrations all by Shackleton. (Light browning, occasional light spotting.) Original cloth blocked in gilt and blind (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed), dust-jacket (torn with loss, some creasing, light soiling and browning). Provenance: Michael and Audrey Gilkes (presentation inscription from the author to front-free endpaper). - And one other volume by Shackleton ('Shakewell Afloat, the collected stories of K. Humphrey Shakewell'. [Westbourne: Kenneth Mason Publications Ltd, 2004.] First edition, 8vo). Together with a small group of letters and other correspondence between Keith and Jacq Shackleton, and Michael and Audrey Gilkes. Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (2).
