MAPPING, MILITARY & CIVIL. - W.H. RICHARDS. Text Book of Military Topography: including the Courses of Instruction… and Examinations for Promotion. London: H.M.S.O., 1883. 8vo (242 x 148mm.) Folding key as frontispiece, 2 colour plates (1 double-page), 7 uncoloured plates (6 folding), folding map and accompanying folding sheet of 'Supplies and Accommodation' in pocket at rear, numerous illustrations. (Light browning and spotting, plate IV torn without loss, tears without loss along some folds of map at rear.) Original red cloth (extremities bumped and scuffed, slightly damp stained and soiled, spine faded). Provenance: C.G.C. Money (signed to front-free endpaper). - And twenty-three other volumes relating to mapping (including: E.A. REEVES. 'Maps and Map-Making, Three Lectures Delivered under the Auspices of the Royal Geographical Society'. London: 1910). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (24).
