Photogravure frontispiece, photogravure portrait plate of the author, numerous uncoloured plates and illustrations, 3 maps (2 folding), 5 folding panoramas, 1p. advertisement at rear. (Browning, occasional light spotting, 1 folding panorama torn without loss.) Original cloth blocked in gilt, t.e.g. (extremities bumped and lightly scuffed, chipped to head of spine, minor wrinkling of cloth). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection.
