KINGLAKE, A.W. The Invasion of the Crimea [Cabinet Edition]. Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1885-1888. Vols. I-VII sixth edition; vols. VIII-IX new edition, 9 vols., 8vo (176 x 120mm.) Numerous maps and plans. (Light browning, occasional spotting, some leaves uncut.) Contemporary half-morocco, spine gilt in six compartments, lettered in the second and fourth, the others with repeat decoration in gilt, t.e.g. (4 vols. rebacked with old spines laid-down, some hinges reinforced, extremities scuffed and lightly bumped). Provenance: Arthur Brooke (armorial bookplate to front pastedowns).
