BATES, Henry Walter. The Naturalist on the River Amazons… fifth edition. London: John Murray, 1884. 8vo (184 x 118mm.) Numerous plates and illustrations. (Light browning, occasional minor spotting.) Contemporary calf, spine gilt in six compartments, lettered in the second, the others with repeat decoration in gilt (extremities lightly scuffed, spine faded). Provenance: A.S. Spiridron (presentation inscription from F.C. Birkbeck Terry, Headmaster of Cardiff College). - And five other volumes relating to travel and exploration (6).
