A late 19th Century French Louis XVI style amboyna, tulipwood and boxwood inlaid poudreuse with overall applied gilt metal mounts, by Veuve Sormani & Fils, the hinged lid with curved ends and brass mounted edge, the interior fitted with a mirror and two lidded compartments flanking a drawer, the lockplate engraved 'Vve P. Sormani & Fils, Paris 10. r. Charlot', raised on octagonal tapering legs united by an 'X' framed stretcher, height approx 73cm, width approx 66cm, depth approx 43cm.
