An early 20th century tinplate clockwork novelty toy, in the style of Martin, in the form of a fireman climbing a ladder, hand enamelled, wearing a helmet and blue coat, the clockwork action causing the fireman to climb a ladder (not original), height 19cm (playwear, scratch marks and chipped, ladder has paint wear and rusting). Note: ref. 'Metal Toys' by Alistair Morris and Gordon Gardiner, p69 and p77). Provenance: from the estate of the late Alistair Morris.
