A Victorian silver inkstand of scallop shell form with reeded rim and engraved with foliate scrolls, the centre fitted with a similarly decorated detachable inkwell in the form of an oil lamp, the handle terminating in a bird's head, London 1861 by James Charles Edington, length 23cm.
