A 19th century mahogany hand-painted mechanical magic lantern glass slide, depicting a coastal landscape, fitted with a winding handle, 11.5cm x 29cm, together with another slide of two soldiers beside a cannon, bearing maker's label 'Wilkie', a 19th century printed glass slide of 'Melrose Abbey, by Moonlight' and a collection of other slides. Provenance: from the estate of the late Alistair Morris.
