A Japanese Satsuma earthenware koro and cover by Fuzan, Meiji period, the pierced domed cover and shoulder filled with chrysanthemum and gilt scrolling tendrils on a black ground, the compressed circular body painted and gilt with opposing figural scenes, flanked by simulated brocade borders and gilt lion mask handles, iron red and gilt signature to base, height 9.4cm.
