REICHENOW, Anton. Vogelbilder aus fernen Zonen. Abbildungen und Beschreibungen der Papageien. Kassel: Verlag von Theodor Fischer, 1878-1883. Folio, (393 x 280mm.) 33 colour lithograph plates. (Browning and spotting, leaves from Tafel XIII-XVI torn without loss, 4 plates torn without loss, plate margin of Tab 28 torn and repaired with adhesive tape.) Original green cloth blocked in gilt and blind (extremities bumped and scuffed, somewhat soiled, rebacked). Provenance: Henry Scherren (signature to front-free endpaper, probably Henry Scherren fellow of the Zoological Society of London, author of natural history books for adults and children in addition to contributing to the Encyclopaedia Britannica on natural history topics); E. Hopkinson (signature to front-free endpaper); E.N.T. Vane (signature to front-free endpaper); A.W. Bolton (signature to front-free endpaper).
