London: John Weale, 1841. 2 vols., including the Atlas volume, 8vo (251 x 150mm.) and folio (550 x 360mm.) 34 folding plates to vol. I, 65 plates on 42 leaves (1 double-page) to vol. II. (Light browning and spotting, some marginal chips and tears.) Vol. I original cloth-backed printed boards (rebacked with old-spine laid down, extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, boards rubbed and browning), vol. II morocco-backed cloth (extremities bumped and scuffed, loss of leather to spine, paper label to upper-cover lacking, hinges reinforced, gutta-percha perished). Provenance: from the estate of the late Michael Gilkes FRCS, FRCOphth., FRGS.
