WOOD, Nicholas. A Practical Treatise on Rail-Roads, and Interior Communication in General… third edition, with additions. London: Longman et al., 1838. 8vo (224 x 130mm.) 4 folding tables, 13 engraved folding plates, 16pp. advertisements at rear. (Light browning and spotting, plate XI torn and repaired with adhesive tape with minor marginal loss, plate XIII bound upside down.) Original cloth blocked in blind (extremities bumped and scuffed, rebacked with old spine laid down). Provenance: from the estate of the late Michael Gilkes FRCS, FRCOphth., FRGS.
