A Japanese softwood display cabinet-on-stand, Meiji period, fitted with an arrangement of cupboards, drawers and shelves, the sliding and hinged cupboard door fronts and drawer fronts carved in low relief with birds and flowers, the back and side panels carved and pierced with lotus and scrolling tendrils, the stand carved in relief with further lotus and tendrils above a pierced apron and scroll legs, height 187cm (minor faults).
