LOT 2099
A pair of George III mahogany armchairs, in the manner of William Linnell, each oval back with a rosette patera and bellflower crest, the channel moulded open arms with carved leaf shoulders and bellflower pendants, raised on carved palmette and stop fluted square tapering legs, the seats, backs and arms upholstered in a pale blue patterned fabric, height 93cm, width 60cm (restorations). Provenance: these chairs were purchased by the current vendor in Christie's Decorative Arts Europe sale, New York, 14th and 15th April 2011.
