A 1929 Schneider Trophy plated presentation model of a Supermarine S6 seaplane on a rectangular naturalistic base, cast with 'Winner Schneider Trophy 1929 Super Marine Rolls Royce S6 World Speed Record 357 MPH', struck 'The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ld, 112 Regent Street, W' to side, wingspan 10.5cm, overall length including base 11cm (minor damage). Note: this trophy was presented to Major Robert H. Mayo as official timekeeper for the race. Provenance: from the estate of the late Major Robert Hobart Mayo, O.B.E., M.A. (Cantab), Assoc.M.Inst.C.E., F.R.Ae.S., M.Inst.T.
