MARKHAM, Gervase. Cavalarice, or The English Horseman… Newly imprinted, corrected & augmented, with many worthy secrets not before knowne. London: printed by Edward Allde for Edward White, 1616-1617. 8 parts in 1 vol., 8vo (183 x 126mm.) Titles with decorative woodcut surrounds, occasional illustrations. (Browning, some spotting and soiling, marginal repaired tears with loss to leaves Mm3-Mm4, some other marginal chips and tears with minor loss.) 20th century half-calf (slightly scuffed, endpapers replaced). Provenance: Richard Read (inscription dated December 14th 1751 'Steal not this book for fere of shame for here you see the owners name' to preliminary blank).
